- How do you think your mental health nurse today might compare to a psychiatric nurse your grandparents may have encountered?
- What roles have mental health nurses taken over from what would have been a psychiatrist's (doctor) domain 50 years ago?
- How might a psychiatric nurse caring for patients in the 1960/70s in a Glenside Hospital ward view the relationship a mental health nurse strives to develop with a service user today?
About the speaker
Jayne Hayes is a Registered Mental Health Nurse who has been working in the field for the last 42 years. She has worked in clinical practice, leadership, and education.
She has a passion for developing the healthcare leaders of the future and encouraging mental health professionals to develop compassionate and inclusive practice.
Jayne has recently joined the team at Glenside Hospital Museum as a trustee.
Location & Parking in Fishponds (BS16 1DD)
During evening events and on Saturdays we offer free parking outside the museum, in the small car park (subject to availability of spaces).
