From opening up to curating exhibits, our volunteers make a real impact. Whether you're into history, caring for a collection, marketing, or research, there's a role for you here.
Some come to fulfil a personal project, gain experience, explore potential career paths or just enjoy becoming part of the team exploring the history of three Bristol hospitals.

Join GHM
Have you three to six hours to spare. Ready to be part our team making the Museum the best it can be. Help create a vibrant, inclusive experience for all.
Our volunteers take on a wide range of tasks, including:
- Opening up the museum for visitors
- Enhancing the visitor experience through guided tours and interactions
- Assisting with administrative tasks to keep things running smoothly
- Contributing to marketing efforts to spread the word about GHM's offerings
- Caring for our collections to ensure their preservation for future generations
- Engaging in research to uncover hidden stories and enrich our understanding of the past
- Collaborating on curatorial projects to bring new perspectives to our exhibits
- Participating in co-production initiatives, where volunteers work alongside staff to create meaningful experiences for visitors
